Sharon is Executive Director of Australian Data Risk Management, a newly established consulting firm which provides services in data risk management, corporate governance and assurance support to organisations seeking to comply with Australian data regulatory requirements, including FIRB Conditions and Privacy requirements.
She has strong corporate governance experience working with Boards and Executive teams. Sharon was previously General Counsel and Company Secretary one of Australia’s largest energy retailers and generators.
She has developed and enhanced the maturity of organisations’ governance & compliance frameworks.
Sharon designed and delivered an extensive enterprise-wide data security program for a foreign owned, critical infrastructure business. The program included the establishment of data governance & compliance frameworks, and engagement with Department of Treasury, Department of Home Affairs and Alinta Energy group independent boards and shareholders.
She is one of the few governance advisors in the Australian market with practical experience of implementing governance structures to meet data regulatory requirements.
Sharon has over 20 years’ experience in the legal, energy, infrastructure and resources sectors including several years as a corporate partner with Herbert Smith Freehills. Over her career, she has worked in Australia and internationally. In addition to her strong corporate governance experience, Sharon has significant experience in joint ventures, corporate transactions and project developing and financing, advising on deals in excess of A$30bn.
